“Memory and how it is constructed is an important theme in our production. What is it with memory as a subject you find interesting and inspiring?
– I have always been interested in how flexible historical time is depending on who tells about it and which context it is told in. The process of memory has a subjectivity that is also deeply coupled to one’s imagination and capacity to imagine. Therefore, the subjectivity of memory becomes particularly interesting when it is connected to someone with a very strong imagination like an artist or writer. Then there is an additional layer, which is the readers’ relation to her memories via her having published these books. Fifty years after her death, she is still a subject in different discourses and conversations, so her memories have not only been a projection surface for her own imagination but also for several generations of readers.”
